Rugby 7s – 30th November to 2nd December

Check out the Rugby game at Emirates Airline Dubai Rugby 7s. See the world’s best players take the field for a fast and furious style of gameplay, full of big tackles and high energy sprints. Matches are scheduled 9am-9pm daily, followed by post-match entertainment. And if you aren’t that into sports, there’s plenty of family-friendly festivities, with competitions, giveaways, live concerts and crazy costumes all adding to the fun.

Dubai International Film Festival – 6th to 13th December

The 14th edition of the Dubai International Film Festival (DIFF) is all set for its grand show, with appearances by some renowned international celebrities and big budget films. This year will see the much-anticipated Star Wars: The Last Jedi alongside glossy films produced by Dubai’s own talent. Various cinema and open-air screenings take place all over the city as film fans come together to share their appreciation. Stay tuned for the IWC Filmmaker Awards, with four Gulf talents shortlisted for the top prize.

Sole DXB – 7th to 9th December

Returning for the seventh season, this year’s Sole DXB has a contemporary Japanese design theme. Attracting the world’s best-known and up-and-coming street designers, artists and stylists, the action-packed program and installations will show off the best of urban culture. With exclusive sneaker releases from top brands including Nike, Reebok, and Visvim; workshops with design legends Hiroshi Fujiwara and Jeff Staple; and a live music line-up featuring Goldlink, Kano and Pusha T, it’s a slice of street style in Dubai Design District. Entry ticket for a day will cost at AED 125.

Elton John Concert – 8th December

One of the world’s best-selling and most-awarded musicians, Sir Elton John, will be performing in Dubai for his Wonderful Crazy Night tour. Appearing onstage with his band and customised piano, the singer will perform his greatest hits, pulled from 32 studio albums. Expect to sing along to favorites including ‘Bennie and the Jets’, ‘Candle in the Wind’, ‘Rocketman’ and ‘Your Song’. Tickets will be starting at AED295.

La perle : Aqua Aerobics – Entire December

Masterminded by the legendary Franco Dragone, La Perle is no ordinary production. The visual masterpiece sees a cast of 65 talented artists perform spectacular stunts and aerial acts while diving into a custom-built ‘aqua-stage’ filled with over 2 million litres of water. Inspired by the vibrancy of this city, the show has it all – cascading waterfalls, fast-paced acrobatics, a 25m high dive and fantastical characters, making it a must-see this season.

Dubai Shopping Festival – 26th December to 27th January

How can we forget the most awaited festival of Dubai. Dubai Shopping Festival is something which brings a month-long extravaganza that transforms the city with pop-up fashion shows, fireworks displays, mega sales and so much more.
